Advanced Thermal Management for NextGen eVTOL Electric Flight

Leveraging decades of expertise in thermal solutions, we are helping to redefine the performance capabilities of AAM aviation. Our efficient, modular and scalable cooling systems are engineered to meet the stringent thermal demands of eVTOL mission profiles. Featuring High Voltage (800VDC+) and DO-160 compliant components, our systems are designed to be compact and light weight.

Featuring integrated IoT-enabled sensors for preventative maintenance and alarms feedback for real-time monitoring during all phases of flight, our systems are designed for maintainability and reliability and ensure consistent thermal performance under the most demanding operating conditions.

Built on a foundation of proven engineering and field-tested durability, our systems enable electric aircraft to achieve greater range, enhanced safety, and superior thermal stability — Making the Future of Electric Flight Possible.

Thermal Management System

Applications
  • Battery Systems
    Battery Systems

The BTMS (Battery Thermal Management System) is temperature regulated per Battery Manufacturers requirements and recommended cooling media. IoT-enabled temperature sensors for real-time monitoring and adaptive cooling to maximize efficiency during various phases of flight (take-off, cruising, landing).

  • Power Electronics And Avionics
    Power Electronics And Avionics

Cooled via cold plates, forced cabin air, or liquid cooling loop, depending on performance requirements. IoT-integrated system for predictive cooling, adjusting airflow based on real-time electronic load and environmental factors.

  • Cabin Conditioning
    Cabin Conditioning

Environmental Control System (ECS) to maintain comfortable temperatures in the cockpit and cabin. This system features a lightweight heat pump integrated with the overall cooling architecture, regulating both heating and cooling. Heat recovery system to capture waste heat from the batteries / H2FCs, motors and electronics, providing energy-efficient temperature control for the cabin.

  • Electric Motors
    Electric Motors

Most eVTOLs have air cooled electric motors. For those eVTOLs with High Power Electric Motors or Pusher Electric Motors, additional cooling via a closed-loop system that scales to motor size and quantity may be required. TAT supports this application using a system using EGW, PGW, oil, or other fluids recommend by the motor manufacturer for efficient thermal management and extended motor life.
